| I got home from Burning Man this morning. I haven't slept much all
week, and couldn't sleep today, so I am trying to brave my email inbox,
with little success. For those of you wondering, Burning Man was
a fabulous time, though my body doesn't seem to think
so. Further details are really too scandelous for a
blog.

| I had to drag my sore and slightly sunburnt body to work today after a
wonderful and physically intense long weekend in Tahoe. I
summited two of the three highest peaks in the Tahoe area, drank about
100 beers, swam in the super cold lake, chased a bear away from our
campsite, and hung out with some of my oldest friends. There was
even a cute single boy to flirt shamlessly with. I didn't want to come
home.

| Off to the Big Apple, followed by a brief stint in our nation's capital.
First real vacation since Nepal in November. About freaking time.

| I haven't been sleeping. My old affliction, like a bad back,
comes on at unexpected times. But this beautiful
weather means that I don't have to sleep at night, and I can still be
enjoying the time. I stayed up super late last night, walking
along the Marina Green with a friend who doesn't work regular hours,
and was therefore in no hurry to sleep. It was so warm and beautiful. I
miss balmy nights from the Midwest, but last night made up for
it. When I finally crawled into bed, I slept like a baby..
